1. Glass Pool Fencing Regulations in NSW: What to Know

* Glass pool fence overall height needs to be a minimum of 1200mm. Factory Online Glass pool panel is 1170mm standard height. Adding the bottom feet spigots hold the panel up 60mm from the ground, so the final fence height is over 1200mm.

* The gap between panels must not exceed 100mm. The optimum gap is between 30 - 60mm which most installers select. 

* Glass needs to be 12mm thick, toughened safety glass. And complies with AS/NZS 2208:1996 Safety Glazing Materials In Buildings.

* Glass spigots should comply with AS1170.1:2002 Structural Design Actions and withstand a load impact as specified.

(Do not take risks to use non-compliant glass and hardware. For your own and family's safety, also to avoid trouble from the relevant building approval authority and council)

 

2. Design your pool fence, calculate panel size and quantity

We stock a variety of panel sizes, the width from 200 to 2000mm, increment is every 50mm. Height is 1170mm standard. And we can do custom cut-to-size raked panels if you need a special design.

The glass balustrade panel is made from "A" grade 12mm thickness toughened safety glass and complies with AS/NZS 2208:1996 Safety Glazing Materials In Buildings.

3. Pool gate & hinge panel

Pool gate can be hinged to a hinge panel, wall or square post. We stock a variety of gate and hinge panel sizes in below list.

Pool fence gate hinge type: glass to glass, glass to wall / post.

Pool fence gate latch type: glass to glass, glass to wall or post, glass to glass 90 degree.

 

 

4. Glass spigots selection

Generally, you need x2 spigots per panel. but for panels over 1800mm wide need x3 spigots.

We supply deck mount (screw-in) and core drill heavy-duty glass spigots available in mirror, satin & matt black finish. And we supply deck mount spigot screws and core drill spigot grout cement.

* The spigots we supply are engineered in Australia with full NATA accreditation to meet Australian Standards AS1170.1. And the spigot is made from solid duplex 2205 stainless steel (Grade sequence 2205 ＞ 316L ＞ 316 ＞ 304 stainless steel). Duplex 2205 stainless steel is stronger and double the corrosion resistance of 316L stainless steel.

* Calculate distance from spigot centre to edge of the glass is : (Panel Width) Divide by 6, For example: 1200mm / 6 = 200mm

5. Other materials:

We do custom cut raked pool panels. Email drawing to: sales@factoryonline.com.au, or bring the template to our warehouse to get a quote.

 

6. Select glass clamps

If the glass pool fencing is in high wind, coastal area or wobbly after install, adding some clamps is a good option. It gives additional support to secure the panels.
