02 — Installation Guide
Follow these basic steps to plan, align and install your frameless glass pool fence.
1. Before You Start
Confirm measurements, gate position, finished fence height and site levels before ordering.
2. Marking Out
Mark the fence line, panel edges, gate position and spigot centres before drilling.
3. Installing Spigots
Level the end spigots first, then use a stringline to align the remaining fixing positions.
4. Installing Glass Panels
Install each glass panel carefully, then adjust it so it is level, plumb and evenly spaced before final tightening.
Installation Details
Panel Gaps
Pool fence gaps must comply with applicable pool safety requirements. Regulations require gaps not exceeding 100mm. Most professional installers recommend 30–60mm for best appearance and safety. Keep panel spacing consistent across the pool fence for a clean finish.
Spigot Positioning
A common starting point is approximately 200–300mm from the spigot centre to the nearest panel edge.
Simple guide: panel width ÷ 6.
Example: 1200mm ÷ 6 = 200mm.
Panels over 1800mm wide generally require 3 spigots.
Mark all spigot positions before drilling and keep the fixing centres aligned.
Core Drill Installation
Drill a 70–80mm diameter hole to a depth of 100–150mm depending on the spigot type. Check the floor level, position the spigots, and then fill with non-shrink grout.
Pool Gate Installation
Use matching gate, hinge and latch components designed to work together. Check all pre-drilled hole positions before installation.
The pool gate must self-close and self-latch correctly and open away from the pool area.
Custom & Raked Panels
If there are steps or a fence next to the retaining wall, you may need custom raked panels. Please email a drawing with all dimensions and angles to sales@factoryonline.com.au. We can custom make the panel for you. Lead time is generally 5–7 working days.
Final Adjustment
Check that all panels are level, plumb and aligned.
Check gate closing and latching operation before final tightening.
Complete all final adjustments and make sure all fittings are securely tightened.

Our toughened safety glass is supplied with material compliance certification to AS/NZS 2208:2023 Grade A – Safety Glazing Materials in Buildings.
The certificate shown below is a sample only. A formal material compliance certificate for supplied glass can be issued after delivery.

04 — Technical Specifications
Glass Panels
12mm clear A-grade toughened safety glass with flat polished edges and 2mm radius corners.
Standard widths are available from 200mm to 2000mm in 50mm increments. Standard panel heights are 1170mm in NSW / ACT and 1200mm in QLD.
Gate & Hinge Panels
Pre-drilled gate and hinge panels are designed to suit matching Factory Online pool gate hardware. Hole spacing may vary between suppliers, so check compatibility before ordering.
Spigots

06 — Care & Maintenance
Glass Cleaning
Clean glass regularly using clean water, a soft cloth or sponge and a mild detergent. Avoid abrasive cleaners, metal scrapers and harsh chemicals.
Stainless Steel Maintenance
Stainless steel spigots, hinges, latches and clamps should be cleaned regularly to remove dirt, salt and other surface contaminants. Wash with fresh water and mild detergent, then rinse and dry.
Coastal Areas
Pool fences installed near the coast or in areas exposed to salt spray may require more frequent cleaning. Rinse glass and stainless steel components with fresh water regularly.
Black Finish Hardware
Clean black-finish hardware with a soft cloth, fresh water and mild detergent. Avoid abrasive pads, solvents and strong chemicals that may damage the finish.
