Care of Toughened Glass

-
Avoid Impact on Glass Corners
The corners of tempered glass are its most vulnerable stress points. Striking them with hard objects can cause the entire panel to shatter. Always handle tempered glass with care—especially around the edges and corners.
-
Avoid Sudden Temperature Changes
Tempered glass can tolerate heat better than regular glass, but extreme and uneven temperature changes (like placing a hot pan or pouring boiling water directly on the surface) can still lead to cracks or breakage. Be mindful of thermal shock caused by rapid heating or cooling.
-
Don’t Apply Constant Heavy Pressure
Just like people, glass doesn’t perform well under long-term pressure. If you’re using tempered glass for dining tables or coffee tables, avoid placing excessively heavy objects on it for extended periods. Keep the surface clean and distribute weight evenly.
-
Keep Away from Acidic and Alkaline Substances
Glass is primarily made from silica, which can react chemically with strong acids and bases. To maintain the clarity and integrity of your glass, avoid exposing it to corrosive chemicals.
