What is the required height for glass balustrades in NSW?

Glass balustrades must be at least 1000 mm high under AS1288-2021. Our panels are 970 mm plus spigots (~60 mm), making them fully compliant.

Do glass balustrades require a top rail?

Yes. A top rail is required for installations above ground floor to protect glass edges and comply with regulations.

What material are balustrade spigots made from?

We supply Duplex 2205 stainless steel spigots, offering double the corrosion resistance of 316L and fully compliant with AS1288-2021.

2. Glass spigot selection

• 2 spigots per panel; 3 required for panels over 1800 mm

• Duplex 2205 stainless steel – 2× corrosion resistance of 316L. Complies with AS1288-2021, AS1170.1, AS1926.1-2012 – NATA accredited

3. Balustrade Top Rail

Required if not installed on the ground floor. 316L stainless steel slotted rail (25×21mm, 5.8m length) protects glass edges and improves safety.

Accessories: brackets, end caps, corner joiners, straight joiners, adjustable joiners, and inserts.
